The leaves have changed, snow has fallen (in many areas), and a New
Year has begun! It is time to move into the Winter Season. The Fall
Season saw explosive growth on many games and the coming of
Tournaments. We anticipate the Winter Season will be a big season on
GameBattles with more members, more games, a new Pro Circuit Season,
and the increase of Tournaments around the site.
Also, some big games are slated to come out in 2009:
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Halo 3 ODST Killzone 2
To continue into the Winter 2009 Season, you must Enroll your current
team. All of your roster and team information as well as match history
will be saved and carried over!
Only the Leader may perform this enrollment. On the ladder standings
page, where you would typically see a link to either 'Join this Ladder'
or 'View your Team' will be a link that looks like this:
Enroll Your Team in this Season
Simply click that and you're ready to go. A new set of seasonal
statistics will appear on your team page, and you can start battling
immediately!
Welcome to the new Winter 2009 Season. Enjoy the competition and have a Happy New Year!
Check out some of the best user-created content that LittleBigPlanet has to offer a few weeks after its release.

LittleBigPlanet launched on the Playstation 3 a little over two weeks ago, and has made a huge splash, captivating the minds and imaginations of online players everywhere. The prime feature of the game is the Map Editor, which allows users to create their own levels using a very advanced physics engine and several tools putting the power in our hands to create almost anything we can imagine. GameBattles has done a little research and come up with eight of the coolest user-created maps we've found thus far! Want to show off your own custom level? Upload a video walk-through in the MLG GameBattles Game Room and you could be featured on the homepage!
Now, without further adieu, our Top 8 LittleBigPlanet Custom Levels:
8. It's Love
It's Love is based on a freeware game called Love, but is completely tailored to LittleBigPlanet. The level does an excellent job of combining challenge with creativity. There are enough difficult sections of the level to keep you interested, without being frustrating. And just take a look at that rocket car!
7. Cranes, Trains, and Automobiles
More creativity. More physics. Cranes, Trains, and Automobiles shows off the unreal amount of customizable aspects of this game. The crane, the train, and yes, even the automobiles, are all completely user generated. That's what makes this map incredible and fun to play.
6. Sweet Child O' Mine
Guns N' Roses, anybody? This level re-creates the intro to the epic rock song, "Sweet Child O' Mine." There's no difficulty factor in playing the level, but piecing the song together must've been extremely painstaking. For creativity and effort, this one is definitely a winner.
5. Super Sackbros Level 1-1
Ah, from one classic to another. This level should look familiar to most hardcore gamers: It's a re-creation of the first level from the fabled NES title Super Mario Bros. Talk about old-school. Very cool.
4. Metal Gear Solid
This custom level is a parody of the first few mission objectives in Metal Gear Solid, which is widely considered to be one of the best Playstation games ever. There are a few discrepancies, but overall the creator did an excellent job including the key points to the game, and providing the player enough information to figure out what to do next. The story line to this incredible franchise will never get old, and reliving it in a game like this is twice as nice.
3. The Human Body
One of the most complex things for anybody to understand is the human body itself. This user has created a map which explores the ins and outs of human beings. Several entrance and exit points allow for the player to find new paths and navigate throughout the body. This is simply mind-blowing.
2. DinoLand
Here's another fun one. This level includes numerous objectives for the player to complete -- all while dodging (and riding!) pre-historic creatures. Yes, dinosaurs. The creator has managed to portray some of the fiercest dinosaurs known to man in this mini-adventure known as DinoLand.
And finally, GameBattles' favorite User-Created Level so far:
1. Fly Me to the Moon
Fly Me to the Moon is an awesome level which truly demonstrates the power of the level creator. From cars to spaceships, sackboys to aliens -- you'll find it ALL in this level. Oh yeah, and the rocket ship was the icing the cake.
Think your levels are as good as, or even better than, the ones listed here? We'd love to see them! The GameBattles Game Room is open to all to upload and share your videos with the GameBattles community. Hope to see your creations soon!
